Nurturing one petal at a time

How therapy can help you

REGULATE YOUR EMOTIONS

Even the smallest situations create deep emotional reactions for you. When you feel upset, it feels like that feeling will last forever.

Therapy will help you recognize your emotion patterns and develop skills to regulate your feelings.

LEARN EFFECTIVE COPING SKILLS

You turn to unhelpful solutions to try to cope with the pain. Life feels unbearable, but nothing you do seems to help.

Therapy will teach you new ways of coping so you can get through painful moments without making a situation worse.

BUILD HEALTHIER RELATIONSHIPS

Your relationships are full of ups and downs. You feel exhausted, but the thought of being alone or abandoned terrifies you.

Therapy will teach you how to act effectively in your relationships while maintaining your own values and needs.

STRENGTHEN YOUR IDENTITY

You struggle to describe what it means to be you. You struggle with low self-esteem, and you often feel empty and numb.

Therapy will help you strengthen your sense of self and redefine what it means to be you.

Growth blossoms here

Hi I’m Adora!

MA, LMHCA, NCC

My Approach

Compassionate, collaborative, and playful evidence-based treatment.

Healing requires an understanding of your current context, your past history, and your future direction for where you want to go. I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help you create a life you want to live. In our work together, you will learn more effective ways to manage your emotions, recognize your behavioral patterns, and work towards life goals that feel meaningful to you. I honor and value the expertise that you bring into session, and together we will move you towards deeper healing, self-discovery, and real-world changes.

I recognize that even with the best intentions, our current healthcare system inevitably causes harm, especially onto individuals from marginalized communities. I am adamant about being in a constant state of learning and self-reflection so that I provide culturally informed, responsive care.

My Speciality Areas

I enjoy working with clients from all backgrounds, identities, and walks of life. I also have training and passion in a few specialized areas, which are listed below.

  • You’ve tried everything you can, and still…

You struggle to manage your emotions, and you don’t understand why your mood seems to go from 0 to 100 at the drop of a hat. Because you feel so deeply, things that seem harmless to other people cause you immense pain, panic, and distress. You feel hopeless about the future and sometimes hurt yourself in the process of trying to manage it all.

You are in the right place.

  • Does this sound like you?

You are exhausted from constantly having to educate “professionals” about your neurodivergence and what it means to be autistic. You are exploring your autistic identity and want to find a therapist that can affirm your neurotype instead of trying to “treat” or “fix” it.

You are in the right place.

  • Can you relate to this?

You have gathered the strength to seek out mental health support, but you want to find a therapist who can relate to your Asian identity. You want to work with someone who understands the cultural nuances that come with being Asian (responsibility to your family, respect for authority, academic and work pressure… the list can go on and on!) so you don’t have to explain it all to someone who just doesn’t get it.

You are in the right place.
